Hi, friends. I am preparing a presentation about WorldCALL to be given next October. Revising my notes, I found out that I could not take any about our panel Discussion - the one where we speak about CALL situation in our countries. Does anybody have any notes about that? If so, could you possibly send them to me to nelbaq@gmail.com? Thank you, very much.

Dear Jenny and Nelba, It is so nice of you to start this posting here in our wetpaint wiki space. Your poster presentation was SUPER! It so informative and gives people the opportunity to learn more about your country and about the situation of rural schools in Argentina and how technology may help them to improve their access to a better education. You have been doing a great job for improving this technology situation. We are proud of you for giving the radio interview. You are rock! I wish you a great success in your future intentions and in life as a whole. Hugs, Nina

Dear Nina, Please. Can you take out the slide presentation and insert only the URL of the slide show? Opening this page takes a long time and my PC gets frozen. Thanks.

Hi ladies!
I wonder if you would like to take the Nagasaki City Tour on Saturday 9th. It would be great to go all Webheads together. It is about US$ 75.00 per person. What do you say? I guess we have to make the reservation on the official event Website. https://event.toptour.co.jp/ecas/worldcall2008/system/

Hi everyone!
I'm so sorry I haven't been more active here. As Hala knows, my daughter's wedding is just 4 days after my return to Iran, so at the moment I'm overwhelmed with work, but I'm really really looking forward to meeting you all so much!
I haven't been following things very thoroughly and have had no time whatsoever to do searches, learn about Japan, our trip, or prepare myself in any other way! Now I'm starting to get butterflies in my stomach (well, I already had them, but that was for my daughter's wedding; now I have them for both)! I worry about my air ticket (never travelled that way before and I'm soooo afraid something is going to go wrong!), financial issues (don't know how much I should bring), dietary matters (I'm a practicing Muslim with food restrictions), and anything else you can think of!! :-) I even worry that there is something else I should be worrying about which has escaped my attention so far! ;-) I'm looking forward to the moment when I actually get there and see you guys and can believe that this dream has really and truly come true, come what may afterward!
Thanks a lot for all the helpful tips, etc., not that I really had time to follow them, but it made me rest assured that I would be among a very thoughtful group of friends. Like always, you've proven that: Webheads rule!
Hugs all, Susan @>----;-

"Dear Susan, Don't worry. Everything will be ok. We all are the same and will take care about each other. .... So, count on everyone. Webheads are really ones to rely on. Looking forward to seeing you soon. P.S. I do understand how busy you are preparing to your daughter's wedding. It is very responsible and exciting. I wish you can do all these smoothly. Don't let all the things bother you." Thanks, dear, for your kind words and the useful tips! :-) I'm looking forward to meeting you in person! Hugs, Susan @>---;-

It might be interesting for everyone to learn about the Japanese food. While yesterday's ChatCast @ People and Places, WebheadsinAction.org . we learned a lot new things about Japan , traditions and culture. I have figured out that it is not that expensive as I heard from the friend. There are lots of Vending machines with good food. Take a look at the Mary's students' pictures with informative comments about them at http://is.gd/XFD. Nina

Hi,Nelba,
I think I got it why the link doesn't work: I forgot to take out the period after the link! Stupid me. Here is the link again:
http://www.welcome-fukuoka.or.jp/lang/english/welcomecard.html
and here is another information about the welcome card in major Japan cities:
http://www.jnto.go.jp/eng/arrange/essential/welcome.html
We can get the card in some locations, there are two places in Fuk airport where we can get the card and we need to show our passport to use it.
What do you think, Girls, should we get one for each of us and use it?
Love, Neny

Salamat ( many hellos) to all of you,
Counting days? my heart starts to beat like a maniac:-))
1. How did you find the time of the workshop you have registered into? I could locate only the rooms.
2. Did you receive an email with a subject: "World CALL 2008 reminder regarding lunch/dinner arrangements offering a lunch box ( bento:-) and restaurant cruise ship for specific amount of Yens? 3.Are we supposed to arrange for a tour by ourselves with one of the companies there to show us around the city. What do you think? We can ask Tom to recommend one and book earlier? 4.I think those who arrives late to the hotel SHOULD immediately ask about the others, so we can have a webhead gathering that night, even if some had a very difficult trip( 15 hours flying??) See you soon. love Hala

You have asked a lot of questions but they are fine, Evelyn. Y have cancelled my bento lunch box because Thomas has suggested that we can find more international food outside the congress at good prize. It seems nobody is going to take bento lunch box. good for Nº 10 question: I would like to be with one of the group if we share rooms. Nelba :-)

Hi dear all,
I have another question about money exchange. Who knows if it is possible to exchange USD to JPY or will it be better to use VISA Classic or any other electronic Card. Which is the best to use in Japan? I heard there are not many exchange offices in there.

Dear gals,
According to the tropical heat in Japan this time, I was recommended to be sure to have a small handheld fan, some handkerchiefs or small towels, and a parasol or possibly a hat with us. We'll need those plus a water bottle to survive. We can buy a handheld fan for 100 yen, or sometimes they hand them out free as advertisements on the streets.
Any more recommendations? Have a nice week, Nina

Dear Jenni: A friend of mine told me that it is illegal to carry any weapon in a handbag in Japan. Here is what he says: 'A knife, even a table knife, or a fork could be used as a weapon in any crime. You can't carry them with you in the street in Japan. You will surely be arrested if found.' So, we'd better try with chopsticks. It will be a very interesting cultural experience we might share with our students later. My warmest hug, Evelyn

Hi girls!
I don't really mind sleeping on a futon. It would really help my back. Of course, I'd love to stay in a 5 or 6 star hotel, ha ha ha, which won't be our case, will it? If so, let me know. :-)
I added the metro video just for fun. It reminds me the rush hours in Caracas. It is almost the same chaos, except for the metro officer pushing people to get on the train. I really enjoyed watching it. Human beings are very interesting everywhere!
