I came from the Far East (Vladivostok ) of Russia, but have been living in another side of the globe, Ukraine, all my adult life. I‘ve been teaching English for students majoring in economics at National University in Khmelnitskiy city. Since 1998 (when the Internet access became available at our university) I have been involved into many different international projects:

During 4 weeks took part in the Internet for Business English Training TESOL 99 Preconvention Online Workshop, October 26-November 20, 1998.
ON-LINE “FUTURE OF ENGLISH?” COURSE, based on David Graddol’s fascinating book on “The Future of English?”, commissioned by the British Council and published to great acclaim in 1998.
Participated in the “Business English Project in Ukraine” follow-up; participant of the “Business English Project in Ukraine II” (course content: methodology in trainer training and teacher training);
Participant of the four weeks ESP BUSINESS Workshop On-Line (USIA) run by Moya Brennen and Chip Harman. This course was organized for teachers around the world to demonstrate the process of designing a Business English course for students;
-Participant of ELTECS Future of English Virtual Workshop, created and run online in November 1998 through February 1999, (collaborative designing and drafting of a bank of teaching and learning materials based on the book The Future of English? for use within the ELTECS network.

Since early 2006 I‘ve been involved into blogging with LwC and B4B as well as Blogging for Educators as a co-moderator in 2008 and Images4Education in 2009. Though, at the University I mostly use Moodle platform for creating materials for students’ autonomous learning. However, I took a try to involve my students into blogging and, hopefully, we’ll continue exploring these tools next academic year. To learn more about blogging I’ve created one for TESOL-Ukraine and Hawaii-TESOL partnership and the other one for Webheads Greetings. Our primary blog for students also is placed in Blogger: Luckyones.
I have the only son who lives and works in Poland. He is crazy of Kite-boarding.He runs his business in Warsaw. And the only grandson who brighten our days here in Ukraine.

Please forgive the cross-posting of this important announcement.

WorldCALL 2008, to be held in Fukuoka, Japan from August 5-8, 2008 announces the availability of full scholarships to the congress, including transportation, fees, lodging and a stipend for miscellaneous expenses. In keeping with our policy of "Equity and Access" these scholarships are only available to participants from countries that are not considered to be "Higher Income Economies" by the World Bank. The scholarships are thus based not only on merit but also on financial need. An accepted presentation is not a requirement for a scholarship award.

We encourage all CALL scholars and practitioners, including graduate students in qualifying countries, to apply. Further information and the application form are available at: http://wc3scholar.info. The deadline for the receipt of applications is December 31, 2007.

Below is the additional information for applicants who had an intention to try the chance.

The WorldCALL 2008 Conference will bring together experts and practitioners in Computer-Assisted Language Learning from around the world.

One of the goals of WorldCALL is to provide as many scholarships as possible for professional development to those who are working with CALL in developing countries so that they can benefit from the exchange of ideas and come into contact with leaders in the field.

Scholarship awards include:

Return air transportation (economy class) from current residence to Fukuoka, Japan.
Accommodation during the conference (5 nights, 4-8 August).
Waiver of conference participation fees.
A daily allowance for meals and miscellaneous expenses.
Scholarship recipients are expected to pay for their own expenses from their home to the nearest airport.

Arrangements for air transportation (e-tickets) will be made by the scholarship committee on behalf of the awardees. Recipients are expected to return to their point of departure within a period of 10 days from the time that they left.

Criteria for scholarships:

Each recipient must

speak English fluently
not have sufficient funds to afford to attend WorldCALL without scholarship aid.
be a native of, and currently be residing in a country that is NOT considered to be a "High Income Economy" by the World Bank.
have made a significant accomplishment towards the implementation or development of CALL or ICT for language learning, in either research or practice.
not have received a grant for a previous WorldCALL conference.

Application for a scholarship is NOT tied to having a presentation accepted for WorldCALL. All scholarship recipients, however, will be asked to participate in one or more panel discussions or other events during the conference.

The following documents are required from all applicants:
Each applicant should fill in the online application form (below) which includes a personal "Statement of Purpose" in 200 words or less specifying what your current area of interest in CALL is and how you hope to benefit from attendance at WorldCALL 2008.
Three letters of recommendation, to be sent directly by the recommender by e-mail to <scholarships@worldcall.org>. At least one recommendation should come from someone who has recently worked closely with you and who is familiar with your efforts in CALL and Information technology. The committee prefers recommendations that come from a variety of sources, rather than all from the applicant's current educational institution.

A brief curriculum vitae which lists your personal background, education, employment, a list of any publications and oral presentations and any previous awards or scholarships that you might have received.

Announcing the WorldCALL 2008 Scholarship Awardees

The scholarship committee has reached its final decisions. We had an extremely difficult time deciding the awardees. Many highly qualified applicants had to be turned down purely because of budgetary constraints. Our goal was to decide on individuals who met these criteria:
People who have been active in CALL (not just language pedagogy or administration) as evidenced by recent publications, presentations or on-going projects.
People who exhibited in their "Statements of Purpose" a clear goal for their attendance at WorldCALL 2008 and a plan to disseminate the knowledge so gained upon their return home.
People who represent a wide spectrum of geographical areas, balanced by gender and years of experience. Geographical selection was also, to some extent, determined in proportion to the number of applications from that area of the world.
Congratulations to those who have been selected. At the same time, we thank those who applied and sincerely regret that they, too, could not be included.

Personal background:
Jinguo Mo, born in Shanghai in 1950, is a professor of English and supervisor of MA candidates in the School of Foreign Languages and the director of Institute of Foreign Language Learning at Southeast University, Nanjing, China. From 1994 to 1995 he went to work in US as a visiting scholar. From 1996 to 1999 he was the Vice Dean of the Department of Foreign Languages at Southeast University. Since 1999 he has been an examiner of CET-SET(CET Spoken English Test – a nation-wide exam). His major research fields are Tertiary/College English Teaching and CALL. In November, 2006, he was appointed as the Executive member of PacCALL.

Here Institute of Foreign Language Learning refers to a tem of foreign language teachers in our school, whose researches are concerning the integration of educational technology with foreign language teaching and learning.

Creating Online Tasks 101 Workshop

This workshop offers hands-on introduction to Hot Potatoes, popular authoring software to create online tasks. Tasks created can be worked on with web browsers, either without the Internet access or on the web, in combination with content management systems.

WORLD LINK is a core series for young adult/adult learners of English from the low-beginning to high-intermediate level. Language instructors need and want to create their own material

In Revolution a stack means a file.
Has text fields and button.
There are many different text fields styles. They are very easy to change the same as you do with Microsoft word.

Different things you can do with this soft

Show text and Hide text.
Show graphic and hide graphic.
Play sound, Audio Quick time players.
Record Audio.
video capture
can go out to the web
Manage files via FTP
Integrate with MySqL

Why join this Revolution

Revolution is very powerful and flexible. Like modeling play.

Not free but relatively affordable.

It is possible to develop materials on one platform and run them on the other.

You dont need to depend on Internet, but I can integrate it with the Internet when I want to.

Claire makes her students collect audio and video and share it with revolution. She has the freedom to move things around. Can make it any colour or size I want. Flexibility!!!
