1. Registration for workshops
We have to register for one or more workshops, to be offered on the first day, August 5th at https://event.toptour.co.jp/ecas/worldcall2008/system/ . (See details on the site) The committee expects us to attend at least one workshop in return for one night of your hotel stay.

2. Uploading your pix
Log onto this site and put a small introduction to yourself, with a picture so that everyone can learn what everyone looks like before we all arrive in Fukuoka? If you click on your name, in the upper right corner, you will see some tabs. One called "Profile" allows you to enter text as well as a square picture of yourself.

3. Our Panel Discussion
" I've attached the abstract that will appear in the program, and as you can see it contains all of your names so that there will be a permanent record of all scholarship recipients in one place. As ..." more (attachment below)

4.Greeters at the airport & Hotel Eclair Hakata
MessageMessages from Tom ... The hotel's name is "Hotel Eclair Hakata" and is the same hotel that the WorldCALL committee members from the Tokyo area will be staying at, so you will have plenty of people to help you find the conference center on the first day! (The workshops, however, are held elsewhere but committee members will surely be going there, as well.)
The hotels own web page is located at but the information is only in Japanese:
http://www.hotel-eclair.co.jp
Arrangements have been made to meet everyone at the airport. They will have a sign but will also recognize your faces since they will of them from our website (so, the important thing is to upload our pics to our profiles that was said above).
Prof. Yamauchi has prepared an XLS file showing who will be meeting us at Fukuoka airport. ... more

5. Contact phone numbers in Fukuoka
Prof. Hisako Yamauchi, who is in charge ofour local arrangements, has given her mobile number: 090-3663-2541
If any of us has trouble with transportation, finding a way, etc., call her. We can call from any public phone or with the help of a willing Japanese who carries a mobile phone, which is most of them!
Prof.Tom Robb's number is: 090-8386-8749
Remember that Hisaka Yamauchi should beour first point of contact for help. That failing, please give Tom a ring. (from Tom R. message)
